Sacred Numerology: Understanding the Language of Spirit

Sacred Numerology: Understanding the Language of Spirit

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom” - Psalms 90:12

The Ancient Wisdom systems considered numbers as a sacred science; they were understood to be the building blocks of Life used by God to symbolically communicate with to those who were open to listen and understand. Many ancient people, including Hebrews, Greeks, Romans, also applied a numerical value to their alphabets and used words in numerological sense.

Plato stated that “numbers are the highest degree of knowledge. It is knowledge itself;” Pythagoras described them as “the essence of the cosmic and inner harmony;” St. Augustine of Hippo wrote: "Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth;” and Galileo Galilei affirmed: “Philosophy [nature] is written in that great book whichever is before our eyes — I mean the universe — but we cannot understand it if we do not first learn the language and grasp the symbols in which it is written. The book is written in mathematical language, and the symbols are triangles, circles and other geometrical figures, without whose help it is impossible to comprehend a single word of it; without which one wanders in vain through a dark labyrinth.”

In the Bible and in the Old Sacred Texts numbers carry, therefore, a symbolic significance in relation both to the context in which they have been positioned, and the addition of the correspondent numerical value of the letters of the words used to express a particular concept.

For this reason, in the ancient Scriptures, each number holds a specific significance and movement of consciousness: it expresses the unity between macrocosm and microcosm, and the willingness of the Creator to set in motion and achieve a precise purpose in His Creation.

The same is true for us. As creatures of this spiritual universe, the numbers related to our date of birth and name are indicative of the details of our incarnation and Soul Plan that Spirit has disposed for each of us in relation to the Greater Plan of Existence. These symbols are keys to understand the spiritual dimensions of the divine reality as an expression and measure of the personal movement of consciousness behind the superficial form of things.

During this 3-day IIS event, we will explore together the origin and meanings of the 9 primary single digits, and the relationship of the most important sacred numbers with the individual journey.
The aim is to reveal the hidden pattern behind our own life: who we are on a soul level, what we are meant to be and what we have chosen to work on from the consciousness point of view, in order to fulfill our mission in the Greater Order of things. Knowing who we truly are, expands our consciousness and opens us to the wisdom of the heart, assisting us in living our destined sacred life blissfully.

“…but thou hast ordered all things in measure and number and weight” - Wisdom of Solomon 11:20

“Numbers rule all things” - Pythagoras 580 – 500 B.C.E.
