The 12 Apostles and the Journey of the Sun through the Zodiac

The 12 Apostles and the Journey of the Sun through the Zodiac

According to the ancient teachings, God created the stars (Gen. 1:16) and positioned them in their exact places in the universe (Ps. 8:3) for a very specific purpose. As written in Psalm 147:4, they were so important that God determined their number and called them each by name.

“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.” (Is.40:26)

Stars were considered to be “for signs and for seasons, and for days and for years, in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” (Gen. 1:14, 15)

For that reason, man honored the journey of the Sun God as a life-giving source throughout the year. Astrologers and mathematicians divided the sky in 12 portions as number 12, being 3 (Divine Plan) multiplied by 4 (earthly manifestation), was the number associated to the governmental order of the cosmos. Each portion was associated to a specific constellation of stars of the Solar Zodiac with the intention of marking something significant about specific periods of time, as the Hebrew words Avah, “signs,” and Moed, “seasons,” indicate.

Every year, in December, at the time of the Winter Solstice, the Sun is re-born, that is, the days begin to lengthen; while on Summer Solstice, the Sun starts to decrease.

The New Testament describes Jesus Christ as the personification of the Sun in its path through the Zodiac and his 12 disciples as the 12 tribes of Israel, which, in Kabbalistic astrology, are related to the 12 signs of the zodiac. Every zodiac sign reveals something about the destiny of man and symbolizes a most fundamental quality in human nature.

During this two-day course we will look at each star sign in relation to the apostle associated to it in order to illustrate the deep meaning of our own journey in relation to the discovery of our inner divinity.
