Planets are living beings having each a Spiritual Individuality - as defined by Rudolph Steiner - that evolves as Life does. We are all part of the Universe, even if it seems we are separate from it.

These gigantic Beings and their celestial bodies seem very far away from us, but the truth is that they are within us not only because, according to the ancient wisdom teachings, they are related to the Chakra System and the 10 Sephirot in the Kabbalistic Tree of Life in the microcosmic view of the Adam Kadmon.

Each of the seven ancient Celestial bodies (the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), generally known in astrology as Personal Planets because they directly and constantly influence the human’s daily life, are associated to colours, metals, parts of the body and food - as this may be classified as the seven metals.

Colour is consciousness. The planet attribution to a colour depends on the energy of one of the seven ancient alchemical metals associated to them by the ancient Hermetic science. These seven metals are: gold, silver, mercury, copper, iron, tin, and lead. These metals have specific key physical properties – thermal and electrical conductivity - by which they can be arranged in a scale: they can be polished to shine, they produce tones/resonance when struck, they don't shatter when hammered, they can be beaten into shape, and become quickly hot if one of their corners is heated. This scale turns out to be the same as the ordering of their associated planets, in terms of speed of movement. The modern biochemist Dr Frank McGillion affirmed that “The orbital motion of the planet correlates in sequence with its corresponding metal's conductivity […] The slower a planet moves, the less able its corresponding metal is to conduct electricity.”

The ancient alchemists did not consider the planets only for their physical properties but for the effects that they had on the consciousness and life of each human being. These metals are part of the physical constitution of the human body and their inner balance or unbalance affects the well-being in a deep way.

During this course we will look at the energy of the planets as living beings, their metal, colour, food and day of the week association to understand the astrological configuration of the Chart as a process of daily inner transformation and rising in consciousness through the influence of these celestial bodies. As we understand the alchemical work of each celestial living being in the individual’s life, we are given the opportunity to restore the inner energetical relationship with the celestial energies and the living evolving Universe.
